Is Fenty Beauty Cruelty-Free in {2020}?

Rihanna is such a multi-talented woman.  So I was beyond excited when she launched her Fenty beauty line. The line celebrates diversity and features over 40 shades of foundation plus shadows and lipglosses.

But is Fenty Beauty cruelty-free or do they test on animals?

Fenty Beauty Animal Testing Policy

Fenty Beauty’s animal testing policy can be found in the FAQ section of their website. Here is what it says:

“Never. Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free brand. We never test products or ingredients on animals, nor do we allow suppliers or affiliates to conduct testing on our behalf.”

Does Fenty Beauty Test on Animals?

No, Fenty Beauty does not test on animals. They state they don’t test their products or ingredients on animals, nor allow a third-party to conduct testing on their behalf.

Is Fenty Beauty Certified Cruelty-Free?

No, Fenty Beauty is not a certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny, PETA, or Choose Cruelty-Free.

Is Fenty Beauty Sold in China?

No, Fenty Beauty is not sold in China. They are sold exclusively in Sephora, Harvey Nichols, and Boots stores. They are not listed on Sephora China’s brand list and Harvey Nichols nor Boots has store locations in China.

Is Fenty Beauty Owned by a Parent Company?

Yes, Fenty Beauty is owned by Kendo Holdings.

Is Fenty Beauty Vegan?

No, Fenty is not a vegan makeup brand but they do have an extensive line of vegan products.

“Fenty Beauty is cruelty-free and never tests on animals, nor do we allow suppliers or affiliates to conduct animal testing on our behalf. While the majority of the products are free of animal byproducts, Fenty Beauty is not considered a vegan line: A handful of our products may contain ingredients of animal origin, such as beeswax and carmine. For information on specific products, please refer to the Ingredients tab on the product pages.”

Wrap Up: Is Fenty Beauty Cruelty-Free?

Yes, Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free makeup brand that has some vegan options. They have stated that they:

  • Do not test any of their products or ingredients on animals
  • Don’t allow others to conduct animal testing on their behalf

…and based on my research they don’t sell in China where animal testing is required.

Therefore, Fenty will be added to my list of cruelty-free brands. You can buy their cruelty-free makeup online via their website, Sephora, Harvey Nichols or Boots.
