  1. What an awesome list. I’ve never real thought of detergent in this manner before. It’s usually make-up that gets advertised as being cruelty-free and not tested on animals. The brands aren’t familiar, but in supermarkets here I’ve seen earth-friendly detergents, which is probably similar if not the same. I’ve also never heard anyone mention loving doing laundry. The only people who appear to love it are those moms in the detergent adverts!

  3. I’ve been trying to go completely cruelty free but it’s difficult because a lot of cruelty free products aren’t easily available in Pakistan. Luckily Astonish detergent is available here. I’ve been using it for a couple months and I love it. Thanks for sharing this list!

      I struggled with the same problem when I first moved to Germany. Most of the other cruelty-free blogs were based in N. America and many of those products weren’t available or didn’t deliver internationally. Which is one of the reasons I started this blog 🙂

  4. Everyone in my family suffers from sensitive skin so my the detergents and comforters we use on our clothes when doing the laundry is so important. I suffer from eczema so it’s imperative it’s not sensitive.

    Ecover and Method are no longer cruelty free and no longer display the hopping bunny logo. Both companies were bought on the quiet by SG Johnsons who does carry out laboratory animal testing.

      Yes they are both owned by SC Johnson, a parent company that tests on animals. But Ecover and Method are both Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free. It’s optional for a company to place the logo on their products.

    I can personally vouch for Nellie’s laundry detergent. It works, and unlike so many of the other cruelty-free brands, it is not packaged in plastic. I’ve always bought the tins when I can get the-the tins can be re-used for a bunch of things, and if not, can be recycled.
